With a name of, ‘A Happily Ever After Homecoming,’ it is obvious that the theme this year is Disney. Last year’s, ‘Homecoming for Humanity‘ tradition of donating to a non-profit organization continues. This year, class floats will sell various goods and donations will be accepted for Kids on a Mission.
Kids on a Mission is a faith-based organization with ties all around the world. Their mission is to, “To empower kids, develop their leadership and communication skills, connect them to projects, mobilize kids and partners, give our time, talents and treasures to serve kids in poverty and impact the world for God’s glory.”
The second day of the week kicks off, Oct. 2, continuing the 34 annual FC homecoming. Carrying on the Disney theme, today’s dress up day is Goofy’s Wide World of Sports Tuesday. Students participate by wearing their favorite sports apparel.
This year in the middle of homecoming week Champions for Tomorrow comes to the school to speak in chapel, encouraging students to set goals and strive to achieve them.
Today’s princess pageant included Disney trivia, with the consequence of a pie to the face if they answered incorrectly. Princess candidate Danielle Foster, ’20 faced the aftermath of answering a question wrong.
“My favorite part of today’s princess pageant was getting to see all my friends get pied in the face for answering questions wrong.” Foster said. “I’m really excited for tomorrows pageant, but I’m hoping that it’s a little less messy! Homecoming has been so much fun so far!”
Tomorrow is Sleeping Beauty’s Wake Up Wednesday, so make sure to wear your pajamas!
