Student leadership decided to take advantage of a half-day and held a car wash for this month’s service project on Sept. 13. The car wash was free for all students and teachers and began at 12 P.M. in the high school parking lot along the Alluvial entrance. The group continued to wash cars until none remained.
“I think the car wash is a good way to show our school that students can do a good deed for free,” Samantha Krikorian, ’08, said, “yet have a lot of fun and have others benefit from it.”
All of the leadership class contributes in the service projects, in addition the projects also gives students community service hours.
“We try do to service projects as often as possible,” Krikorian said. “Since we are a student leadership class we serve the student body, and the service projects guarantees we will give back to the students.”
Students found the car wash convenient due to location and time.
“I think it is a good idea to have student leadership hold a car wash for all the students,” Phil Unruh, ’07, said. “Students never have time to wash their cars. In the parking lot you frequently see dirty cars with ‘wash me’ on it. If I had a car, I would go.”
According to leadership adviser Josh Tosland, the class washed over 20 cars in about 80 minutes.
