Spanish III embarks on their annual lunch trip to Toledos Mexican restaurant to practice their Spanish training, Oct. 31.
They prepare their Spanish for weeks in order for them to speak 100% of their foreign language. Rachel Rodriguez stands in as a waitress, taking students’ orders and using props to mimic the real deal.
I had the honor of going with the team to Toledo’s Mexican Restaurant to experience the fun, and thankfully they allowed me to speak in English.
Students Logan Lewis, ’20, and Max Munoz, ’20, interview staff members of the restaurant, preparing for the big day.
“I’m looking forward to getting to go off campus and have a good meal, as well as interview the manager.” Munoz said. “We’ve been practicing our ordering for a while and it should be fun to put that to use.”
After the trip, Rodriguez assesses students ability to use Spanish in a real life context for a grade on this trip.
