Local non-profit agency, Kids on a Mission, joins the students during chapel to receives a $2,056 check from donations raised at homecoming, Nov. 1.
Kids on a Mission strives to raise money providing children with school supplies and clean water in locations such as Costa Rica. During this years homecoming float competition, Fresno Christian families had the opportunity to donate funds towards this goal. FC raised enough money to build half a water well and provide over 2,000 backpacks filled with school supplies for children who cannot afford them.
Samantha Portale shares why she decided to join Kids on a Mission.
“I was first asked to join Kids on a Mission on a missions trip in 8th grade.” Portale said. “I wanted to join because I wanted to make a change in the community. I want to continue going a mission trips because not everyone get the opportunity.”
The mission of Kids on a Mission is to empower kids, develop their leadership and communication skills, as well as connect them with projects. Their vision is to impact 250,000 kids lives. Being young does not exclude the chance to change the world.
