Youth pastor at Gateway Baptist Church, Brian Payne, speaks in Tuesday chapel, Nov. 6.

The pastor based his message off of 1 Kings. This passage was used to focus on the importance of random events. Payne leaves students with hypothetical questions, “Should we string these moments together?” “Is God leading arrows to steer us in the right direction?”

Brian is from North Carolina, and moved to Central California in late June, in order to spread the gospel to students at Gateway Baptist.

After coming to christ in 2003, Payne began to realize that the Lord, “connects dots in our lives.” He believes that when God throws random events your way, it is for a reason.
