The Feather highlights senior Anthony Diaz as he brought in 100 Operation Christmas Child boxes earlier this week, Nov. 6. Diaz was able to supply one fifth of the proposed goal of 500 boxes, school-wide.
When asked to explain the story behind what inspired him to bring in boxes, Diaz says, “God really just wanted me to do this.” He also shares what he hopes is done with these boxes.
“Every year I never really feel like doing these, and this year I felt called to do it,” Diaz said. “I’ve learned over the years that you should listen to what God tells you to do. He gave me a number and He gave me a budget and those numbers lined up exactly. That was God’s plan all along. I hope that these boxes are used in children’s lives that don’t have as much as we do.”
You can bring in O.C.C. boxes too! FC moves back the collection date to this Friday, Nov. 9, rather than Wednesday, Nov. 7. Deliver your box to Robert Foshee’s room, 608.
Diaz also wants to encourage fellow student to listen to God when feeling called to do something despite any fear that may come with the decision.
“I’d say do what God tells you to do regardless of what other people say because, ultimately what matters is that you are obeying God and what he has asked you to do,” Diaz said. “Never be scared if God calls you to action because the blessings that follow are worth it all. God isn’t going to lead you astray, he is going to use you in ways you could never imagine.”
Help FC meet the goal of over 500 boxes. Thank you for your donation, Anthony!
