The 31st annual Clovis Children’s Electric Christmas Parade, put on by the Clovis Kiwanis Club, trooped through the streets of Old Town Clovis, Dec. 1. Residents of Fresno County gather to watch decked out floats, old cars, bands and equestrian groups as they marched down Clovis and Pollasky Avenue.
The Clovis Kiwanis Club is an organization dedicated to “Changing the world, one child and one community at a time.” Alongside sponsoring the parade, the club does other acts of community service such as building and donating brand new bikes to children who cannot afford them.
Despite the chill in the air and the rain from earlier on in the day, thousands of people lined the streets of Old Town Clovis to witness the show of lights. Over 115 clubs and organizations participate in the parade including the FC marching band and winter guard. If you missed their performance, FC band will next be performing at their show “A Suite of Sweets” in the Student Ministries Center (SMC), Dec. 10, at 6:30 p.m.
