Seniors celebrate Christmas together with a sock exchange party, Dec. 7.
To continue senior bonding from ‘Senior Retreat’ and ‘Senior Sunrise’, the class gather together before finals weeks and Christmas break to spend time with one another during lunch.
Students bring a pair of socks to participate in an exchange of socks rather than a regular Christmas gift exchange. Socks brought in by students varied from fuzzy, Christmas and different prints.
Senior Griffin Schmidt brought a Hanukkah pair of socks and recieved Coca-Cola socks in return. He found spending time with his classmates a great way to end his semester and looks forward to the next senior bonding event.
“In exchange for Hanukkah socks that I brought, I received Coca-Cola socks,” Schmidt said. “I love the fellowship of the whole senior class together. It was fun spending lunch with one another and hanging out. I look forward to our senior trip at the end of the year.”
Parents help set up the event and provide tortilla soup, chips, corn bread and sparkling cider as a meal to the students in the SMC.
Along with this senior event, ‘Ugly Christmas Sweater Day’ also takes place, Dec. 7.
Next, seniors will take part in a spring ‘Senior Sunrise’.
