Students in Vickey Belmont’s Art I class layer pieces of recycled magazine to make a three dimensional picture, Nov. 30.
The project students are currently working on 3-D Topography art is the arrangement of natural and artificial physical features of an area, according to Oxford Dictionaries.
Students are assigned to cut out imagery from magazines and stack ten different layers of shapes from those pieces. They started by picking out a three-dimensional object, and began layering the magazines cutouts on a black piece of paper. The shapes were attached with small foam squares to add height and dimension.
Students in Art I continue to do many projects over the course of the semester. This month students continue to work on shading techniques and realistic self portraits as part of their semester one final.
