As the first three weeks of second semester passes, high school students are asked about their goals for the new semester, Jan. 19.
Sophomore Alyssa Reese plans on embracing the new semester with a fresh attitude.
“I am so happy that there is a new semester because it’s a fresh start,” Reese said. “Some goals that I have for the semester include: getting straight A’s, not procrastinating, and having a more positive attitude towards school. I am very excited and thankful that we have a new semester. I feel pretty good about it.”
Recently having finished semester one finals before Christmas break, students receive the opportunity to restart not only with learning materials, but also grades.
Senior Reese Brown looks forward to the many activities the new semester holds, including tennis and graduation.
“I feel my first semester went really good, senior retreat was an awesome way to start it off and I ended it with going to Florida so not to bad,” Brown said. “I’m exited that this is my last semester, can’t wait to graduate and see what’s out there for me after high school. My goal for the second semester is to win a Valley Championship for tennis. We should have won it last year, but lost in the finals so I’m hoping this year will be different.”
Through asking each high school grade level what their three main goals were for the second semester, results found that from 148/206 FC high school students, 62% said organization and time management.
