Sophomore Lorenzo Fierro paints his color wheel in Vickey Belmont’s third period art class, Feb. 1. Each student finds an object or pattern to draw and paint into a color wheel of their own design.
Students learn about primary, secondary and tertiary colors in Belmont’s class and paint a color wheel to display their knowledge. The goal of this class is to give students a basic knowledge of certain aspects of art. These include drawing, color theory and grid drawing.
Junior Deborah Ingerson, a first-year art student, uses art as a way to relax after a long day.
“I thought that joining art would be good for me because before this year I was not very confident in my abilities,” Ingerson said. “Since joining art, I have learned how to do a self-portrait and how to make an illusion. My favorite part of being in art is being able to relax and enjoy it rather than having to read or try to figure out a hard problem.”
