Cheer earns top award at FCC West Coast National Championships
FC varsity and junior high cheer teams travel to Azusa Pacific to compete in the FCC West Coast National Championships, sweeping the competition, Feb. 2.
After taking a two year break, varsity cheer team returns to the FCC West Coast Nationals. Out of all competing high schools, varsity cheer receives the highest overall score, known as the Grand Champions title.
Varsity and JH cheerleaders we’re given the opportunity to enter into a jump and tumbling competition against others in their age category. Before concluding the day in awards, FCC staffers encouraged families and athletes to participate in a time of worship.
JH Lady Eagles also place first, and are named Grand Champions out of all competing junior high squads. This is the second consecutive year JH has won the Grand Champion title.
Nicely done varsity and JH cheer teams! Be sure sure to come support your cheerleaders at their next competition, The Clovis West Showcase, at Clovis West, Feb. 9.
High school is scheduled to perform at approximately 1:20 p.m., and JH at 12:50 p.m. Stay tuned for confirmed performance times.
This is both team’s last competitions of the year, so be sure to head out and support your FC cheerleaders! Unlike previous competitions, at The Clovis West Showcase, Clovis unified schools will not be allowed to compete, only showcase their performance.
