Students in home economics donate desserts to the 36th annual Fresno Christian auction ‘Going Places‘, March 8.
Each class prepares a home-made dessert to sell at the auction. Two of the sweets included raspberry streusel bars and s’mores cookie bars.
In addition to teaching students how to bake, this activity gave students the opportunity to give back to FCS.
Home economics teacher Kimberly Bell enjoys the chance to bake desserts for her student to earn a chance to give back to FCS.
“This year I wanted my students to be able to participate in the auction fundraising,” Bell said. “Philanthropy should always be in our Christian mindset. Baking desserts seemed like a natural choice to exemplify this attitude. Giving back to others might need to be modeled to the students in order for them to start thinking outside of themselves. I have a beaming heart full of pride for what my classes accomplished.”
The class will next learn about etiquette and wardrobes in preparation for Night of the Stars (N.O.T.S.), March 30.
