High school girls begin practicing for the upcoming powderpuff game, April 8.
Each class practices plays and routes to prepare for the game, April 12. The teams are coached by boys involved with football.
FC high school girls play in a flag football tournament, competing against other classmates. Last year seniors won the championship game.
Sophomore Hunter Raynes has been involved with Fresno Christian varsity football for two years. Raynes shares his favorite parts of coaching the girls.
“I am most excited to see what our team can achieve and how we will overcome the challenges during the game,” Raynes said. “My favorite part of coaching powderpuff is interacting with the girls and helping them learn their positions. The most challenging part of coaching powderpuff is coming up with a way to attack the opponent.”
Each class has a different color shirt to represent the teams:
Freshman- Blue
Sophomores- Black
Juniors- Army Green
Seniors- Red
On the day of the game, a special bell schedule is used in order to have enough time in the day for powderpuff.
