Hannah Villines, ‘21, runs the ball down the field in the 2019 Powder Puff tournament, April 12.
Every year, HS girls from each class compete in a flag football tournament, known as Powder Puff. Coached by boys from the high school football team, the girls practice for a week before the big game.
Teams end the week with a round robin style tournament in front of FC students body, faculty and attending friends and family. The winner of the tournament receives a trophy that they will get to keep until next years’ Powderpuff games.
The freshmen class defeated the seniors, 24-8, in the first round of the day. The next match was the junior class versus the sophomore class. The two teams were neck and neck until the fourth quarter when the sophomores pulled ahead to victory winning, 8-0, shutting out the class of 2020.
The two competing teams in the final round include the freshmen and sophomore class. The sophomore class walks away with the victory, defeating the freshmen, 22-8. Way to go sophomores!
