Fresno Christian students, staff and parents gather in the People’s Church main sanctuary for the annual all school National Day of Prayer chapel, May 2.
Second grade students begin the chapel by performing motions to the song ‘Speak Life’ by TobyMac led by the class teacher, Kristin Eldridge. The worship team leads worship, followed with a short message from the Superintendent, Jeremy Brown.
The National Day of Prayer is always on the first Thursday in May. Former President Harry S. Truman signed The National Day of Prayer into law in 1952. The national day invites people of all faiths to pray for the nation. The organization is privately funded with a purpose to encourage people to participate in prayer.
An early morning gathering in the courtyard was also held for students to attend. The gathering included time of worship and prayer for students.
