‘Pomp and Circumstance,’ the graduation theme booms through the Peoples Church Auditorium as the class of 2019 proceeds down the aisle wrapping up their high school experience with the 38th annual Fresno Christian graduation, May 23. 

Sending off 41 seniors, 10 of which were ‘lifers’ the night was filled with prayers, announcements and speeches.  

The main speaker at the ceremony was Clovis Police Chief Jerry Dyer. In his speech, Dyer encourages the graduating class to pursue the desires of God rather than their own.

“So the question we have to ask ourselves,” Dyer said. “Are we going to pursue our personal desires or God’s desire for our life? Whether that is choosing a college or choosing a career.”

Many different awards and scholarships are recognized during the night including the California Scholarship Federation award. The recipient of this award is club President, Kamryn Schultz.

The senior class of 2019 will be attending colleges spread across six different states including Nevada, Arizona, Colorado and Pennsylvania. In addition, $2.1 million in scholarships were offered to this year’s graduating class.
