Introducing teaching techniques and ideas while revamping existing programs, four teachers join the Fresno Christian community in the new year.
As the first month of school concludes, students begin to settle in; finding their place and forming relationships with classmates. While students get to know their peers, they also learn from and about their teachers.
Among the new teachers are Melanie Portwood, Marianela Aguilar, Nate Case and Megan Conner. Each teacher looks forward to teaching and encouraging students throughout the year.
Picking up freshman and junior English, Melanie Portwood plans to engage with students by reading between the lines and uncovering classic novels from throughout history. Portwood has also taken over the high school yearbook class.
Teaching Spanish one, two and three, Marianela Aguilar incorporates her Costa Rican roots to help students grasp a better understanding in class.
After his experience as a long-term sub for Terry Richards, Nate Case steps up to teach the life science classes. With an education at Fresno Pacific Case used his knowledge for both Biology and Zoology.
Teaching at her first official school, Megan Conner looks forward to incorporating her professional skills, in the school drama department. With experience in many plays and musicals, Conner launches the campus’ first theater company, Spotlight Productions.
If you see any of the new teachers make sure to welcome them.
