I have lots of memories from all of the thirteen years I spent going to school at Fresno Christian. However, although I attended FCS from kindergarten through high school (’04 grad), most of my memories are from high school. My fondest memories from high school are the relationships I had with the teachers.
The teachers made my school experience enjoyable for me and I am glad I was able to form personal relationships with most of them. I specifically remember playing tennis with Mr. (Robert) Foshee my senior year and playing basketball with Mr. (Josh) Tosland. I had fun with the teachers outside of a school setting, which I do not think many high school kids have the chance to do.
High school was also fun for me because I got to go on two great trips. My favorite trip was the journalism trip to New York in the spring of 2003. I remember visiting The Empire State Building, attending Phantom of the Opera and seeing a hockey game at Madison Square Garden.
But my favorite memory from New York is going to White Castle burgers with my teacher Mr. (Greg) Stobbe at 1 A.M. That was the highlight of the trip for me, just walking in New York with Mr. Stobbe. Again, I do not think I would have gotten that opportunity at any other high school.
I am grateful for all that I learned at Fresno Christian. From Mr. (Scott) Falk?s Bible class to Senora?s (Beatriz Foth) Spanish classes, I enjoyed them all. However, my favorite class was journalism. I spent all four years of my high school years taking journalism and the truth is I learned more in that class than I recognized at the time. Mr. Stobbe helped me pursue a dream of mine to work in journalism and I will always be grateful to him for that.
I am in my third year at Fresno State, where my major is mass communication and journalism. I will graduate in the spring of 2008 and I hope to someday work for ESPN as a sports broadcaster or reporter. If that doesn?t work out, I may go into teaching or coaching. I loved attending FCS and if I have the chance I will probably send my kids to school there too, so they can have the same high school experience I had.
Witters wrote for the Feather from his freshman year until graduation. He is currently volunteering as a coach for the campus’ fifth and sixth grade basketball team.

It’s fun passing the ball to Paige and watch her put up two points.
