Aubri Foster’s fourth period Christian living class splits into to two groups creating a replica of a church out of marshmallows and toothpicks, Oct. 10.
Foster references Acts 1:8 which says, “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”
Senior Laura Rauscher shares her perpective on what a church means to her.
“The activity that we did today brought to light how important the role people are in the church,” Rauscher said. “When we finished the buildings, I realized that as the body of Christ we need to support each other just how God supports us. We are called to spread the word of God and we need to uplift each other every day.”
After students finished the activity, Foster explains that the church is about the people not the building. She explains to students that we are all called to go out into the world and make disciples of every nation as referenced in Matthew 28:19-20.
