Fresno Christian football, cheer, color guard, and band seniors are honored during the football game vs. Orcutt, Nov. 1.
Before the football game, senior players and cheerleaders receive signs created by student leadership and are joined on the field by their families.
For the first time in FC history, band and color guard seniors are recognized during their last performance of the football season.
The end of the game was filled with hugs and prayer as Orcutt defeated the FC Eagles, 47-46. Coach Russel Counts ended the night with encouraging words to players, parents and students.
Senior Brittany McCann reflects on her time in color guard during her high school experience at FCS. McCann has participated in in color guard for six years, four of which were for the high school team.
“My favorite thing about color guard is the diversity in age groups,” McCann said. “It’s a really great opportunity, especially since I didn’t do Sister to Sister this year, to be able to pour into my younger teammates. I definitely think a strong bond has been established between all of us. What I’m going to miss most will be the comfort of a team, and I’m going to miss making memories with my teammates every year and building our group from the bottom up. It’s always a great experience to be able to grow, and watch my piers grow along with me.”
