Thirteen Fresno Christian high school students packed their bags and flew to Phoenix, Arizona to visit Grand Canyon University (GCU), Nov. 19-20.
GCU opened in 1949 and is a private non-profit Christian college in Phoenix, Arizona. The school initially offered degrees in education and was established as a Baptist-affiliated institution with an emphasis on religious studies.
Since then the college expanded to include degrees in sciences, nursing, business, music and fine arts with a total of over 75,000 students online and on campus.
While at the college, FC students received a tour of the college’s many programs and activities led by current GCU students, including FC alumni Tyler Villines. Students also had the opportunity to stay in dorms on the GCU campus to get the full college experience. A few of the activities students got to experience included a basketball game, and a worship service called The Gathering.
