Dear Editor:
All teens need solid guidance from an adult they trust and respect when times get rough. However, too much could make one indecisive.
In the article ìConflict, teen issues mold characterî (May 11, 2006), senior writer Kassy Batesole makes it clear that a role model (often subconscious) that has gone through similar experiences as a teen growing up.
However, it should be with temperance. As senior Brandon Cain states, ìI believe teens can break away from their roots and make their own decisions.î For example, my mentor is my dad and I feel I can go to him with help. But if I were to go to him for every little thing, I would never learn how to handle things myself.
It is important for teens to get good advice from their adult influence, but in moderation. Too much help could make one (as Cain suggests) ìa robotî.
