Aubri Foster’s Christian Living classes compete in a city building contest, Jan. 28. Groups mould their ideal community out of colorful Play-doh and draft a constitution.

Christian Living students are assigned this project as part of a unit on Christianity reformers and their theologies. Before planning their own cities, students studied John Calvin. He was a leader of the Reformation in 16th century Europe who reformed the town Swiss of Geneva. His goal was to create a form of government that followed God’s will.

Teachers Aubri Foster and Andrea Donaghe as well as academic advisor Evangelina Escovedo examine the finished sculptures as groups present their preferred form of government and unique laws.
