To Be Known 2021
New video series To be Known, features Fresno Christian campus students with a look into their personal lives offering an opportunity to connect deeper. Bringing you a collection of interviews from various students allows others to know a part of their life outside of school. Hobbies, work, family background, aspirations and challenges during this global pandemic. It is the aim of The Feather video journalists to tell their story to help them be known.
Introducing junior Edward Fikse, a friend to everyone at Fresno Christian who greets others with a stylish, “How are you doing,” followed by his signature thumbs up. Traveling to school with an hour commute each day, Edward grew up on a dairy farm which has impacted his future ambitions.
As Edward’s last two years of high school come to an end, he hopes to continue education in agriculture or business. Fikse speaks of the pressures put on him being the youngest with two older sisters, Mariana, ’18 and Julia, ’19 who also graduated from FCS. With a close family and many cousins who live near by, lots of farm memories have been made.
His favorite farm feature is the 2009 Crown Victoria cop car complete with lights and sounds that is affectionately named the “cousin mobile.” Recently using the car he posed as a cop in order to disrupt the neighbors party. Other than driving the cop car Fikse spends time doing farm chores driving tractors, loaders and quads.
At a young age, Edward’s family went through hardship as his family was robbed and later after rebuilding the house was burned down by an arsonist. The Fikse family thought of it as a way to grow and realize you have to trust the process and put your faith in Christ. Now his relationship with the Lord is better than ever, as Edward is known for always putting a smile on the faces around him.
