It’s that time of year again! AP Euro students begin preparing for their end of the year test. AP Euro teacher, Kori James, aids the students in their journey by administrating an AP practice test. From multiple choice questions to long essay questions, this practice test will prepare the students for the real deal. Students are pulled out of their third period classes to begin the three and a half hour long test. Split into two sections, students will work until the time is up, regardless of whether they are finished or not.
James has seen positive effects over the years from students taking a full practice test.
“My goal is to help rid any unknowns and calm test day nerves,” James said. “This allows students to have a reality-check, seeing if they are prepared enough or if there is something they can still improve. In a way, it’s a self evaluation that provides familiarity and allows them to be more successful.”
As the units wrap up, the class will begin in depth review with more training for the three written sections of the test. Each year, students are given what is known as “the cram packet” which is a one inch binder full of review materials that many students are more than happy to be rid of. Some have gone as far as top burn them at years end.
Test day for AP European history is May 7th. For more information about Fresno Christian’s AP classes, read College Board announces test plan.
