‘Lessons and Carols’ showcase the musical talents of Fresno Christian’s choir, led by Susan Ainley, Dec. 11.
The annual Christmas program includes JH choir, Bellezza (girl’s ensemble) and Cantiamo (HS concert choir). All together, more than 80 students perform nine lessons, including scripture reading by Roy L. Klassen (Fresno Pacific University Professor Emeritus), congregational carols and choral group musical selections.
Choir performed various songs such as ‘Hope for Resolution’ by Paul Caldwell and Sean Ivory and ‘Angels We Have Heard on High’ by Peter Niedmann.
This was their second concert of the semester. The previous performance showcased songs such as ‘Let All the People Say, Amen’ by Pepper Choplin, and ‘Venga Nel Coro’ by Antonio Salieri in the Fall Concert.
The high school group is continuing to raise money for their spring NYC trip to Carnegie Hall. Contact music teacher Ainley if you are interested in purchasing pointsettas for the holidays. Muffins are also being sold on Wednesday morning in front of Building six for $2. Their New York trip will take place, April 13-20.
HS choir’s next performance will be the Valentine’s concert, Feb. 10.
