Color guard records student-choreographed routines for their families to enjoy, March 23. Color guard, like every other sport, club or activity, has been held back and restricted on certain levels due to COVID-19, this prevented color guard from performing together as a group. As an alternative, students choreographed, chose music and performed a routine of their own, with help from teacher Lesley Bannister.
Bannister has taught both band and color guard at Fresno Christian for seven years. Due to COVID-19, color guard has eliminated performing at football games and parades.
“This fall we dialed it down to the basics,” Bannister said, “They learned the basics of rifle and flag.”
When Bannister is not teaching color guard or band she can be found in the kitchen baking or designing home spaces.
Some of the songs that were danced to were “Burning Gold” performed by Sasha Pierce, ‘25 and “When the Night is Over” performed by Brianna Metheny, ‘24.
Color guard parents will be emailed individually for their kid’s performance. Their next performance will be available school-wide for the annual May-the-Fouth routine.
