Fresno Christian’s 36th annual homecoming brings the community together after its absence in 2020, Sept. 17. With exotic cars, class floats, and 19 formally dressed court candidates, enthusiasm for the event was evident as homecoming unfolded.
‘Homecoming for Humanity,’ this year’s theme, focused towards an opportunity to raise funds for non-profit agencies. Students themed their float builds based on the non-profit voted on by their classmates.
Freshmen: Water for South Sudan
Sophomores: Doctors without Borders
Juniors: Make-a-Wish
Seniors: Cal Fire Benevolent Foundation
All together, the students raised over $5,000 for their organizations. Alongside the senior float, the owners of Cressman’s were able to raise $1,200 for their rebuild efforts. Thank you community for your generous donations.
Homecoming pageantry began with a pre-game introduction of the princess candidates. After choir led the crowd in the national anthem, kickoff started the football game against the Alpaugh Buffalos. The game ended with a 47-6 win for the Fresno Christian Eagles.
Homecoming king and queen candidates, presented during halftime, were introduced and crowned by last year’s royal couple, Bryson Graham and Natalie Arndt.
Congratulations to the winners of the homecoming court:
Freshman princess: Milly Morgan
Sophomore princess: Gabriella Hutcheson
Junior princess: Brandy Penberthy
Senior princess: Emily Penberthy
Senior queen: Ashley Logan
Senior prince: Kamdon Marquez
Senior king: Owen McCann
