Ending the regular league season, football and cheer seniors are honored during a Thurs. night home game against Laton, Oct. 28. The
Eagles defeated the Mustangs with 58-0 shutout.
Before kickoff, Coach Fuller, decked out in a suit and tie, honored his six football seniors. Bradley Cheney, Owen McCann, Casey Lacriox, Peter Kazarian, Braden Walters and Andrew Smith shared the field alongside their families while the crowd got to know more about these players.
During halftime a similar experience for six senior cheerleaders including, Ashley Sciacqua, Carlee Zamarripa, Ashley Logan, Avery Loeffler, Isabella Hutcheson and Ashley Gallegos took place. Wearing matching tiaras alongside their mothers, the girls received flower bouquets and posters made by their teammates.
Highlighted plays include two touchdowns, two 2-point conversions and one interception by Cheney, along with a 70-yard run for a touchdown by freshmen, Joshua Kabota.
Cheney has played football at FC for three years as a receiver and quarterback,
“Playing football has given me friends that have turned into brothers.” Cheney said. “Juggling school and football can be stressful sometimes, but football can also be a good way for me to relieve stress.”
