For the first time since 2017, Eagle football secures the title as CIF Central Section 8-man Champions, Nov. 19. With
a blowout score of 54-6, Eagles defeat Mojave Mustangs.
Mick Fuller has never coached an undefeated season in his five years as head coach.
“During the course of the season,” Fuller said. “We improved a little each week, making fewer errors and being more precise and consistent in our technique.”
The team has won three other championships in 2015 coached by Fuller, 2016 and 2017 coached under Russ Counts.
“Opening the game with a defensive score set the tone for the whole game.” Fuller said. “Braden Walters forced a Mojave fumble and Joshua Chinn recovered it and returned it for a touchdown on the first play of the game.”
Other game highlights include tackles by Casey Lacroix, Matt Kent and Owen McCann on Mojave’s quarterback, a catch by Peter Kazarian on fourth down that sustained an offensive drive in the first quarter leading to a touchdown, and a rushing touchdown, two receiving touchdowns and an interception by Bradley Cheney.
Junior, Joshua Chinn, has played football since seventh grade at FC and has built a bond with the team this year especially.
“The team has been a great team, not just athletically but also personalities.” Chinn said, “It is a great team to be part of and I would like to thank coach Fuller for setting the team up.”
