Santa Claus is Coming to Town with the sounds and sights of the annual Clovis Children’s Electric Christmas Parade!
Kicking off the holiday season, the parade begins at 6:30 P.M. on Dec. 4. People can spot FCS’s band, percussion, and color guard in the promenade, winding through Old Town Clovis.
Nine years ago, Lesley Bannister started teaching at FCS, bringing the holiday tradition to the school. Due to COVID-19, the event was canceled, leaving a gap year in the traditional parade.
Bannister is excited to showcase her students this year, as they didn’t have the opportunity last year.
“We are very much looking forward to getting to perform,” Bannister said, “We spent the whole period this morning wrapping all our drums in lights, so it’s gonna be a very fun event.”
Bannister isn’t the only one excited for the parade, Elise Bessey, ‘23, also can’t wait. You may spot her in the FCS band’s clarinet section.
“I’m looking forward to decking out in holiday lights and other decorations,” Bessey said, “My favorite part of the parade is seeing all the holiday lights shine in the dark.”
