The Crown award represents the best of the best amongst member publications that include newspapers, magazines, yearbooks and online formats. Judges look for excellence in design, photography, concept, coverage and writing. 35 digital newspapers received a gold/silver crown with 11 of these teams based in California.
This is the 3rd Silver Crown for the team with the first in 2009, and second in 2012.
The 2022 school year is the first time The Feather does not have an editor in chief as most of the team is brand new. Another challenge was the loss of long time Adviser Greg Stobbe who stepped away due to a medical condition allowing Adviser Kori James to lead the team of 22.
This year the judges were sensitive to the challenges COVID-19 raised to student publications and was gracious to include The Feather in their awards program. Thank you CSPA for the recognition and honor!
