Hundreds of high school students and faculty serve at 10 different locations across the Fresno community, Feb.17.
Serve Day was planned in partnership with Every Neighborhood Partnership (ENP) Fresno. ENP has helped each year with setting up local non-profits for students to serve at.
2023 Serve Day locations:
- Central California Food Bank
- Peoples Church
- The Well
- Cross City
- Reading Heart
- Graffiti clean up
- Firehouse No. 18
- Martin Park
- Lowell Neighborhood
- S.E Park
As a new location for students to serve at, the firehouse gets ready for their grand opening, Feb. 22. As northwest Fresno continues to grow, this new fire station will enable the Fresno Fire Department to increase and enhance fire protection and emergency response.
Senior Joshua Chinn reflects on his time serving at graffiti clean up.
“This year I went to help paint over graffiti. I decided to serve there because I’d done it during my freshman year and I remembered it being a really cool experience. To me serving is having the opportunity to be able to make an impact somewhere,” Chinn said. “Whether that be something small or big it all adds up which in turn makes our community better as a whole. Serving is also something that we are called to do as Christians because Christ served us first.”
Each year, Fresno Christians get to take a day off from school to give back and serve our community. If you would like to serve out of school hours, head to everyneighborhood.org.
