SEYMOUR SCHOLARSHIP FINALISTS–
Seniors Michelle DiBudio and Jennifer Schmidt were finallists in the prestigious Seymour scholarship of California Scholarship Federation. They, among eight other finalists from the Central Region were interviewed on April 15 in a conference in Visalia. Both were awarded $1250.

HALF SCHOOL DAY APRIL 19–
School will dismiss at 12:30 P.M. on April 19 due to a staff transformation day. The teachers will be working on ESLERs for the coming year.

ASVAB TEST RESULTS–
Students who took the ASVAB testing, come to the high school office and pick up the results of the test and a booklet.

JOSTONS GRAD ANNOUNCEMENTS–
Jostens will be delivering announcements and other orders on April 21 at 12:30. Students should pick up their orders BEFORE they leave campus for lunch.

AP BIOLOGY TRIP TO MORRO BAY RESCHEDULED–
AP biology class trip to Morro Bay to conduct experiments as been rescheduled for April 20. The original date was postponed due to heavy rains. For more information, read the April 4 article, “AP Biology coast trip rescheduled” by Matthew Shattuck.

SENIOR AWARDED TOP HONOR AT FCC COMPETITION–
Senior Brianna Stobbe was awarded Fresno City College’s top award in the 27th Annual Valley Invitational High School Drama Festival as she garnered a Superior rating and medal for her role in the one-act play, “The Open Road.” Members from the campus drama class competed in the drama festival at FCC on April 5.

The ?Open Road? is about two parents, Stobbe and junior Jason Harris, who are concerned about their teenage son, played by Phil Unruh. They worry because fantasizes that he is Walt Whitman. The trio had preformed the one-act earlier in the school year under the direction of drama coach Tom McEntee.

Sean O’Neal, Janae Allen, Lindsie Casner and Missy Montejano also presented monologues during the competition.

MATH FIELD DAY, CSUF–
Math Field Day is an academic competition designed to challenge the junior and high school math scholars. Math teacher Mike Fenton and calculus teacher Dr. Bob Arnold have encouraged students to attend the April 22 event. Last year the campus math team won second place in the Small Schools Division. SADIES PHOTOS NOW AVAILABLE–
If any student has not picked up Sadies pictures, they can be picked up from student leadership during lunch on April 7.

BAND TO CMEA FESTIVAL–
The band will perform at the California Music Educators Association on April 21. More information to follow.

FCA SPRING BANQUET–
The Fellowship of Christian Athletes will hold their Spring Banquet at the Northpoint Church on April 23 at 3 P.M. More information still to follow.

CAMPUS 3-ON-3 BASKETBALL MADNESS FINALS POSTPONED UNTIL AFTER BREAK–
While this may seem like a broken record, the finals for the campus March Madness 3-on-3 intramural basketball tournament are postponed again until after spring break. Unforseen scheduling problems postponed the finals.

In semi-finals action, the team of Coleton Hutchens, Brad Frazier and Ronnie Gianetta defeated the trio of J.D. Perry, Jordan Hogue and Phil Unruh to reach the finals.

In the other semi-final game, Micealah Alema, coach Jon Hall and coach Robert Foshee defeated Matthew Brouwer, Tara Albrechtson and Gary Darakjian to reach the finals.

WEST COAST RELAYS WINNER–
Junior Aliza Ford was chosen to compete in the top ranked level at the West Coast Relays at Buchanan High and placed 1st in 100m high hurdles on March 31. Ford ran a 17.22 and beat Ashley Richardson of Liberty-Bakersfield who finished second with a time of 17.24.

REGISTRATION FOR FALL–
The parent-signed blue registration sheets are past due. Schedules are being planned for next year, and students without the blue sheet might miss out on classes needed or wanted. Administration is requesting students and/or parents return these forms to the high school office ASAP.

SUMMER SCHOOL–
Those students intereted in taking summer studies, can pick up the application forms that are set out in front of the high school office. The forms must be filled out and returned with a parent signature and payment.

NSPA NAMES FEATHER ONLINE FINALIST–
The National Scholastic Press Association named The Feather as one of its seven Online Pacemaker finalists for 2006 on March 22. The Feather Online newspaper just completed a two-month competition with other high school newspapers across the United States.

The top three online papers in the country will be announced on April 22 at the NSPA national convention in San Francisco. This is the first time The Feather Online edition has been awarded this honor. ISLAND WATERPARK NEEDS WORKERS–
The Island Waterpark is currently accepting applications. Summer employment is a great opportunity for students to earn extra money, learn responsibility, and gain valuable work experience. They have many positions to fill. If you are intersted in applying, you can pick up an application in front of the high school office.

SENIOR ATHLETE APPRECIATION DINNER–
The senior athlete wall of honor appreciation dinner will be on May 1 at Pardinis at 6 P.M. We will be honoring all campus senior athletes as well as inducting our first group for the wall of honor. SUMMER JOB POSITIONS–
Wild Water Adventure Park in Clovis will be hiring 350 people for seasonal positions this summer. Applicants must be 16 years old. Applications are available outside high school office window, or can be downloaded from www.wildwater.net or call 559-297-6500 for more information. Interviews begin during Spring Break.

In addition to Wild Water, The Island Water Park is also hiring applicants for the summer season. Applications are available in front of the high school office.

COLLEGE APPLICATION HELP–
Have you started your applications yet? The college application process can be daunting for some. While the SATs are most often a college entrance requirement, the SAT Subject Tests are often needed as well. Deadlines are looming. Now is the time to get started. Students who need help, schedule an appointment with Jon Endicott, associate principal. Parents are welcome to make an appointment as well. Please contact Endicott at [email protected].
