Since 1977, Fresno Christian High School has been a home away from home for thousands of students. While the school is a professional organization, many view this place as a part of their family.
Our teachers are professionals that address current student needs and alumni return often to say how our teachers prepared them for the future.
While public schools focus on the academics and the physical, we focus on the whole person at FCHS: academics, physical, social/emotional and the spiritual. God is a part of our school, which provides a scripturally based, Christ-centered education.
As administrators, our door is open; kids come to our office to get help or ‘just talk’ everyday. Yesterday I saw 40 students: 25 I called in, but 15 just stopped by.
In fact, one of our top students came by to talk about how busy he is, and needed to just talk through how to get it all done. Only 2 out of the 40 had anything to do with discipline issues.
Some principals don’t work or have relationships with kids. That’s my No. 1 job! Kids do not get in the way of my work. My favorite part of the day is when I visit and listen to kids; I strive to meet their needs when issues happen and count it a joy to do so.
Even the little details in our students’ lives are important; we educate the whole person with Christ as the foundation.
For those who have not spent a day on campus, I think you will find we treat students as if they were one of our own.
