On the Feather New York trip, students embraced the chance to visit the Oculus, 9/11 Museum and Memorial, as well as multiple walking tours of the city, March 11.
The Oculus is home to 12 different subway lines and a variety of stores. Right across the street is the 9/11 Museum and Memorial, which unfolds the story of the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center in 1993 and 2001 and memorializing those who died. Walking through the footprint of where the Twin Towers originally stood, students learn how these events changed history.
In the afternoon, History teacher and Feather Adviser Kori James leads the group around town to different spots where historical events took place. They see parts of the city and where the government was first being formed. The team also tried out the iconic Liberty Bagels.
