The Fresno Christian community gathers to fill their hearts with music at the annual Spring Choir Concert, May 6.
Elementary and Middle school choirs went to the SLO Vocal Arts Central Coast Choral Festival at Cal Poly University in March. Both, Elementary and Middle school sang three songs, in hopes to receive a good score from the judges.
The Women’s Ensemble and Concert Choirs traveled to Anaheim for the Anaheim Heritage Musical Festival. Both choirs were awarded gold by the judges for a score of 90 or higher and the choral sweepstakes award for the highest combined score. Women’s Ensemble won the Adjudicators award with a score of 95 or higher. They also won the award for the highest score of the competition with a score of 97, one of the highest scores that the Women’s Ensemble has gotten at Fresno Christian. The next morning the choirs got to spend the day at Disneyland.
For the spring concert, the families heard a sampling of the songs the students sang at these festivals. Choir director Susan Ainley also took this opportunity to honor the 23 seniors in her group.
The Accompanist for the middle and high school choir, Ben Certain is also the k-4 choir teacher.
