All students, families and faculty are invited to attend the Academic Decathlon Super Quiz contest, dinner and awards ceremony on Saturday, February 7.

The Super Quiz starts at 3:30 p.m. in the Clovis East High School East Gym. Get there early to find good seats. The AcaDec team would really appreciate a good FC booster section at the Super Quiz.

Following the SuperQuiz event, the contestants, their families and guests will be having dinner at Luna’s in Clovis from 5 to 7 p.m. We are reserving a room and a dinner special of aproximately $9 per person.

At 7:30 p.m., the awards ceremony begins back in the East Gym. Come join us and support the FCHS decathletes. Students and friends are encouraged to come, even for any part of the proceedings, but especially for the Super Quiz section.

EDUCATIONAL TOUR TO IRELAND
Those interested in exploring a European educational trip to Ireland in mid June are encouraged to contact Greg Stobbe, English and award-winning journalism teacher at FCHS.

Stobbe has taken nearly 300 people to Europe over the last 14 years on 12 different trips and is planning a 14-16 day Ireland trip that may be taken for high school or university credit. A detailed itinerary and cost break down will be provided. For immediate information, Stobbe can be reached at [email protected] or call him at 801.2460.

NOTS DVDS
The Night of the Stars DVDs will go on sale in the high school office around Feb. 11. The DVD will cost $10 and include the freshman, junior and senior movies.

CELL PHONE POLICY REMINDER
Cell phones are not to be seen in any of the buildings on campus between the hours of 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., regardless of any reason. They will be taken away and kept by an administrator until after 3 p.m. However, students may use cell phones outside the building or in the high school office, with permission, during school hours.

CSF TUTORING PROGRAM
CSF members will host a table for students to sign-up for the CSF tutoring program on Monday during lunch in the GZ courtyard. This program is a free service for students who need assistance with specific subjects on a temporary basis. For more information, contact CSF tutoring program director Natalie McCallum or CSF adviser Molly Sargent.

HS BOYS’ BIBLE STUDY
Every Friday at lunch there is a Bible study for high schools boys in Room 623. Coach Sorenson will be there to lead the discussion. For more information, contact Sorenson.
