Pick a card, roll the dice, and solve the mystery at “Family Game Night,” Fresno Christian’s 39th Annual Homecoming, Oct. 7-11. Students unite for this action-packed week; the itinerary is loaded with fun festivities including dress-up days, the royal battle, princess games, float building, a football game, and much more!
As per tradition, each grade level individually voted on their homecoming candidates, choosing representatives to take the spotlight for the week.
Senior King and Queen Court
- King Nominees: Aden Milwee, Braxton Bay, Caleb Iest, Ian Palsgaard, and Theron Myers
- Queen Nominees: Julia Castiglione, Lyla Hinton, Mallory Friesen, Milly Morgan and Rynna Silva
Princess Candidates
- Juniors: Kennedy Schwab, Kyleigh Baca, and Julianna “Lala” Briggs.
- Sophomores: Anne-Madelyn Morgan, Madison Bishel, and Hailey Higton.
- Freshman: Elle Johnson, Tatum McQuown, and Kenna Sherfield
Princess introductions will be held before kickoff at 5:30 p.m. and all of the winners will be announced during halftime.
The king and queen candidates have begun arrangements for the highly anticipated Royal Battle. The contenders are coupled up and will work over the next couple of weeks to put together a choreographed dance routine, which they are required to lip sync to as well.
King candidate Aden Milwee, ‘25, is excited to be a part of the homecoming court and can not wait to participate in the coming activities.
“I’m most looking forward to the Royal Battle,” Milwee said. “It’s going to be such a super cool and fun experience, getting out of my comfort zone and dancing on the stage with routines in front of the whole school.”
In preparation for Homecoming, each grade was given the chance to vote for a game to base their floats on. Classes will dedicate time outside of school to create unique and artistic displays of their game. The grades will compete against each other for the best float; the voting will take place during the game while the floats are displayed, allowing the classes to display their hard work. The voting is anonymous and is judged for creativity and execution.
Homecoming Float Themes
Seniors: Mario Kart
Juniors: Candyland
Sophomores: Clue
Freshman: Monopoly
Preparing the floats is no easy task, but sophomore princess candidate, Hailey Higton has high hopes for the underclassmen.
“I’m excited to see how our grade will unite and work together to build our Clue-themed float,” Higton said. “I definitely think we have a chance for first or second place this year.”
For each day during Homecoming week, leadership hosts dress-up days to get the students involved and excited for the big week. With different themes such as Twin Day or Anything but a Backpack Day, students get to use their creativity and imagination, bringing their fun fits to life.
Leadership Advisor Robert Foshee encourages everyone to partake in the pre-game festivities.
“Dress-up days help build anticipation all week for game night, and offer opportunities for the students to compete by class,” Foshee said. “The more kids that get involved the more exciting it will be, and when everyone participates it really shows our school spirit.”
