Fresno Christian Varsity cheer works towards their 2024-25 competition season bringing in choreographer Elizabeth Edmondson and tumbling coach, Hailey Field to help improve skills and highlight the teams strengths.
This year, the Fresno Christian Varsity cheer team will compete in two divisions. The whole team will compete in the “Game Day” division, and 15 girls will compete in a “Traditional” routine.
Milly Morgan, ‘25, serves as the Football Cheer Captain this year.
“I think that our team this year is the strongest it has ever been,” Morgan said. “I believe there is a lot of potential on the mat and we have become so close in such a short amount of time. This team already feels like a family.”
These past few months many injuries have taken place leading to changes in routines and hardship within the team.
New cheer boxes have been donated by the Meyers family for home football games. The year 2017 was the last time boxes were around at FC.
Fresno Christian Alumna Ashley Sciacqua performs duties as a second-year assistant coach.
“Even though the season just started, I couldn’t be more proud of what this team has accomplished,” Sciacqua said. “Learning not one but two routines shows determination and commitment. The pressure is on for sure but with a little blood, sweat, and tears, this team can do anything.”
This year the girls will compete in several CIF and USA competitions.
- UCA (Elk Grove, Ca)
- UCA (Manhattan Beach, Ca)
- CIF Invitational (Clovis, CA)
- UCA Championships (Irvine, Ca)
- CIF Championships (Clovis, CA)
