Fresno Christian Varsity Boys Basketball plays their first game of the season at the annual Heart of California Basketball Tournament held at the SaveMart Center, Nov. 23.
The Eagles defeate the Redwood Rangers (CA) in a rigorous game that ended with a 70-62 score. This was their first meeting of the season, as they anticipate to play them again in the near future.
Senior, Aden Millwee, was awarded the Robin Lopez MVP Award. Leading the team, Milwee scored 27 points.
“I thought we played amazing as a team, and we held them to 2-20 on 3 point shooting and forced their best player to five points,’’ Millwee said.
First year FC athlete, Jeremiah Mason, ’25, has played basketball for seven years. He has participated in this exact tournament two times beofre, however this year diverges as he is representing Fresno Christian.
“It was amazing,” Mason said. “It gave me that surreal feeling before tip off. It caused me to wonder how I am here at this amazing arena. It was overall an amazing experience.”
FC plays in the Valley Children’s Hospital tournament at Clovis North against Santa Barbara on Dec. 5. and the Nike Invintational at Clovis West on Dec. 10-14.
