The Old Town Clovis Children’s Electric Lights Parade gathers the Fresno and Clovis community for the 36th annual event. Thousands of partakers march down the streets of Old Town Clovis.
The FC band and color guard participate in festive attire. This is band teacher, Lindsey Clarno‘s, second year in the parade with FC.
“It is important to us that we played music with a true Christmas message, especially in a parade that is very secular,” Clarno said. “Although we obviously can’t play the words, we hope that the audience is familiar enough with these songs that the words pop into their heads when they hear the melodies.”
The band played “Christmas Angels on the March,” “Angels We Have Heard On High” and “Angels From the Realms of Glory.”
The parade consists of floats decorated with lights, animals, costumes, and bands. Along the old town streets were numerous chairs filled with spirited families.
One entry in the parade is Copperwood Training Stables where juniors Tabitha Peters and Kennedy Schwab ride their horses.
Kiwanis Club of Old Town Clovis puts together this Christmas parade every year to help the homeless and sick.
