Fresno Christian baseball and softball honor seniors in two home games against Sierra, April 29.
Baseball celebrates five seniors, including Lucas Adanalian, Henry Feistel, Joshua Kubota, Tristan Davis, and Theron Myers. Softball appiciates their three seniors, Devyn Wilkinson, Marisol Martinez, and Ava Bishel.
Seniors Marisol Martinez and Lucas Adanalian are among the many seniors who have been playing bat-and-ball sports since they were little, with Martinez playing for 10+ years and Adanalian since he was a toddler. Bishel has played for all four years of her high school career and has played alongside her father as he coached her senior season.
“There were ups and downs, especially with the changes in coaches but getting to finish my senior year with my dad as my coach has been something I’ll cherish forever,” Bishel said. “Softball has given me more than I ever expected, and it will always hold a special place in my heart.”
Joshua Kubota, ’25, is a dual-sport athlete, sometimes balancing multiple sports in one season. Kubota has enjoyed the camaraderie of the baseball team the past four years and looks forward to where the program will go after he graduates from FC.
“Being confident on the field is a must. If it is your first time being a starter do not be nervous, try your best and work harder everyday,” Kubota said. “Do not waste the opportunities that the team will give you.”
Softball is defeated 9-0 against Sierra, and baseball loses 11-8 against the Chieftains. Ending the season, softball ends the season 4-16, and baseball ends 10-16. Both teams are thankful to their seniors and all the opportunites to grow as a team this season.
