Pack your bags and book your flights, because the next stop is “Destination Homecoming,” Fresno Christian’s 40th Annual Homecoming. During the week of Sept. 22-26, students will be journeying through a thrilling week. The itinerary is full of spirit dress-up days, princess pageants, float building, the Royal Battle and an epic showdown on the football field between the Fresno Christian Eagles and the Cornerstone Christian Cougars Friday night.
As Wednesday events come to a close, Fresno Christian students reflect on an array of silly activities, including mismatched clothing and princess shenanigans.
Dress up day: Lost Luggage Day (mismatched)
Another day ahead, students come prepared in wacky, outside-the-box, mismatched outfits. Anywhere from silly socks to minion bucket hats and switched shoes, each class brought its own unique twist, pushing the boundaries of creativity.
Math 1 and Advanced Math teacher Kristina Breshears enjoys seeing her students participate in the various dress-up days.
“Today was actually quite interesting, I had some students with really unique hairstyles,” Breshears said. “Some people wore mismatched shoes, and many kids seemed to be going for the Adam Sandler look.”
Princess and Senior Court Games: Water Day
Princess Candidates participate in the annual Princess Games, held every day at lunch, to showcase and promote each class’s princess candidates. The goal is to create excitement and anticipation leading up to the big game. Joined by the King and Queen Court, all candidates competed in a slew of water-based activities, such as Water Slingshot. In this game, each team designates one person to catch as many water-soaked sponges as possible while the remaining teammates shoot them from their respective slingshots. Teams earn points for each sponge caught, adding up to their class’ total score.
Senior King Candidate Tycen Ramirez, ’26, gave it his all during the games, helping lead the senior guys to victory during water slingshot.
“Getting hyped with all of the king candidates and going out there to have fun was very memorable,” Ramirez said. “It was very energetic out there getting to battle against each class.”
Junior Float: Tokyo
This year’s junior class strives to build on the momentum from their first-place finish last year. The class of 2027 aims to separate themselves from the competition. While the girls focus on the decorations and embellishing the float, the boys are occupied with building the foundation of the float. The students have worked diligently for the past month, and they intend to impress the audience with the Tokyo-themed float at the 40th Annual Homecoming.
Main participant, Hailey Higton,‘27, has experience assisting in float building from years prior.
“I think last year’s float was really good, but it wasn’t as clean as we wanted it to be,” Higton said. “This float has an edge on what we accomplished last year because of the clean and precise overall look.”
Fresno Christian’s 20th Annual Homecoming

Twenty years ago, Fresno Christian held their 20th Annual Homecoming in 2006. Throughout the week, students and staff alike participated in fun-filled dress-up days, bringing rock stars, cowboys, cowgirls, and fairytales to life.
The “Classic Movie” theme featured unique floats built by each class based on Swiss Family Robinson, Mary Poppins, The Wizard of Oz, and Grease. Leading up to Homecoming night, candidates drove in with style, each candidate in their own classic car, and queens and princesses were greeted by their fathers to present them at halftime, leading to the crowning of the Homecoming King and Queen. Jordan Hogue and Erin Elmore took home the crowns for the 20th annual Homecoming, ending the magical night in suitable fashion.
Jordan Hogue won Homecoming King in the 20th Homecoming and is now the Executive Director of Ministry at The Well Community Church.
“Winning homecoming was really fun, but it also felt special because the school that I loved said it loved me back. I had a great experience at Fresno Christian the small tight knit environment made it feel like a family.”
