Fresno Christian fall sports wrap up the season, heading to playoffs in girls volleyball, girls tennis, football, and cross country. With a history of valley championships, all senior athletes have had the opportunity to participate in the end-of-season games, hoping for one more.
After a victory against the Sierra Chieftains, FC girls volleyball faced the Arvin Bears in order to begin their journey to playoffs. Though having experienced many bumps in the road, the FC girls volleyball team is optimistic for their end-of-season run and hopeful in their chances to make the championship.
(3-peat) Girls tennis has had quite the season, with two doubles teams, including Seniors K’lanna McArn and Delaney Meyers, and Georgia Karlson, ‘26 and Ashlyn Dyck, ‘27, qualifying for CIF individual championships. With that, Freshman Kate Antonsen earned the NWSC title for Singles League Champion and Junior Kayla Castro placed 6th, qualifying both of them for CIF individual championships.
Varsity football remains undefeated, soaring through the season and awaiting their first home playoff game, Nov. 7th. With a final score of 84-28 against Hesperia Christian, the Eagles have high hopes for the varsity playoff season.
Eagles football Captain Alex Asatrain, ’27, having broken many school records in his third year, such as most rushing yards in a single game and longest rush of 75 yards for a touchdown, has high hopes for the remainder of the Eagles football season.
“The whole team is excited for getting a second shot at Mammoth,” Asatrian said. “With the team we have this year we believe we can beat them. The whole team is also excited for the black jersey championship game.”
Cross country finishes their season ready to run, having competed at the Clovis North Twilight Invitational of which Junior Blake Bay placed 9th, with a time of 9:12 and Sophomore Madison Seibert finished 11th, with a time of 11:19. With such strong runners, cross country expects to sprint through the championships.
