&idWhile you meet hundreds of people per year, the fact is only a few of them will become friends.
With my senior year coming to an end, I cannot help but to reflect on what I have gone through and achieved. I have accomplished many things that most students only dream of.
I have been on a league champion soccer team and been to playoffs every year in soccer since my freshman year. I am a four-year starter and made first team all league. I was also an all-tournament selection at the Fowler Tournament we played in this year.
I have also been on a Pacemaker winning paper twice.
The activities I value the most stem from friendships. These bonds either got me involved or keep me going through. The reason behind joining journalism is not why most people sign-up.
I will always remember the first friend I made here at this campus. I came here in 6th grade and did not have a friend for a while, but then I met someone in an unlikely way. An argument with another student led me to have my first best friend. This friend persuaded me join journalism, later in our high school years.
Also, my freshman year in soccer I was really shy, but did talk to one person. There was a rumor amongst the team that I was a troublemaker and stuck up. This person defended me and told everyone they should try talking to me, before making judgments. Ever since we have become best friends and I even look to her as my big sister.
Although all of my friends have a different sense of humor, styles and interests these true friend help me see the truth, even if it hurts, but never tear me down.
While I look back at how I met my best friends, it seems I form friendships in the weirdest ways. But no matter how we met, I know I can expect support in the same way, by a true friend.
