?Gooood morrrning Fresno Christian!? Senior Trevor Bodi’s greeting reverberates from the high school office at the beginning of second period every day. After ’08 graduates Claire Kister and Samantha Krikorian graduated and passed the position to Bodi, he introduced his own style to the morning announcements. Bodi, along with fellow senior Mickey Walkup, collaborate to create an entertaining method for reading the daily news.
?I love doing the announcements,” Bodi said. “I like to change it up because I want to keep people on the edge of their of seats.?
As he began his new responsibilities, Bodi hunched over the loudspeaker and practiced his vocal expression in order to perfect his delivery of the daily news.
?He would ask different teachers how it sounded,” Yoko Kilbourne, high school secretary, said. “I was very impressed that he took the responsibility to do that. The teachers would tell him what was wrong and he would fix it, such as speaking too fast, dropping his voice or worrying more about the presentation than about the news.?
Bodi presents a different aspect to notifications about things such as CSF and school pictures, bringing the print news to an easily heard format.
?I love the announcements,” Paige Powell, ’10, said. “Bodi does a really good job. The announcements make me excited for second period.?
For freshmen, the daily news provide a fun contrast to the junior high tradition.
?They’re cool,? Brian Kinghorn, ’12, said. ?It’s a nice new change and it’s something to look forward to from junior high. It makes the day more interesting.?
In order to keep the annoouncements fresh, Bodi changes the announcements each day including his signature sign-off.
?I like to sign off by saying ‘Have a metal Monday, twisted Tuesday, wicked Wednesday, thrashin Thursday or flippin’ sweet Friday,'” Bodi said. ?And then I always like to end with ‘stay classy Fresno Christian!’?
