“Go Bananas, Go Go Bananas, Go Bananas, Go Go Bananas!”
The high school students were treated to a pep rally focused on student entertainment in the FCS gym on Oct. 15. The four classes gathered and watched introductions and performances put on by students and clubs.
The rally opened with the leadership class leaders, seniors John Disndale and Natalie McCallum, led the four classes in a yelling contest. They then led the students in a new school-wide cheer.
“My favorite part was when we did the Go Bananas cheer,” Zed Fries, ’12, said. “I literally went bananas. I was jumping around and pretending to push people around, it was so much fun.”
When the cheers were over Coach Shailey Jones came up and introduced both the JV and Varsity volleyball teams. Aaron Bryan, leadership teacher, enjoyed the sports entrances.
“I thought the rally was great,” Brian said. “The Varsity volleyball girls sliding in was the most energetic entrance that we have had with a team.”
After the volleyball introduction, George Freeman introduced the JV and Varsity tennis teams. Then, after the tennis team had cleared the floor, the cheerleading squad took over and cheered for the high school student-body.
After the cheer was finished, seniors Dinsdale and McCallum introduced the game about to be played. Each class was required to pack as many of their classmates onto a sheet. Whoever fit the most would receive points for their class.
Some classes had people sitting on students’ shoulders. Others created a giant dog pile in the middle of the sheet. Kelsey Hart, ’11, was one of the many students who participated.
“It was a good, fun rally,” Hart said. “My favorite part was the game, I had like six people laying on top of me!”
Amanda Merzon ’12 was happy that the game chosen got people involved.
“The activity chosen for the rally was a good decision,” Merzon said. “We need more games like that in the future that make people want to be involved.”

She really had to stretch her arm a long way to do that. This is one of those things that happens and you don’t think anyone is watching.
Of course it’s now on The Feather so I guess someone was. Of course they are friends but this picture looks like a little more.
Nice move Hannah you have my props.
