After a perfect season in their league, the girls’ basketball team will play for the CIF Central Section Division V Championships at the Selland Arena, March 5.
The girls went undefeated in the West Sequoia League this year, and finished 20-7 overall. After a 57-45 win against Kings Christian (Lemoore) on March 3, the team goes into Selland as the No. 1 seed. They will play No. 2 seed Central Valley Christian High School out of Visalia.
“I think what helped the team is that we were nervous for the game instead of expecting a win,” Bridget Texiera, ’11, said. “This made us work harder for a win, because we really wanted it.”
This is the team’s fourth time in a row getting this far in playoffs, and third consecutive time being undefeated West Sequoia League Champions.
Classes will end after fifth period March 5, and students are strongly encouraged to come to the game. For students who wish to remain on campus, study hall classrooms will be open. No rooter bus will be available,
Admission to the game will be $8, and can be purchased at the high school office and the Selland Arena box office, requiring ID. Admission for non-students is $11.
The game will be themed “blackout,” and fans are encouraged to wear black clothing.

Thanks Feather for a great picture from chapel. This picture reminds me of the message that Pastor Jeff challenged us with. Its not just being on fire for God for the moment but being consistent in our walk. Thanks Jeff for the great challenge!
